Department of Collaborative Sciences at Vision Medical College is dedicated to providing the basic knowledge in the sciences to students pursuing careers in medicine, dentistry, and nursing programs. Our department offers undergraduate courses that cover a wide range of disciplines including chemistry, physics, biology, biostatistics, computer, English, Arabic,  etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consolidating and supporting students’ linguistic, scientific, and technical foundations, enabling them to pursue health programs with exceptional proficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Department Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Providing advanced and integrated curricula elevating students’ scientific and research capabilities while stimulating their critical thinking and research skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Department Goals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Elevating the language proficiency of students enrolled in medical programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Educating students on the fundamental principles of basic sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Training students to establish connections between various basic sciences as a precursor to medical studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Developing students’ skills in critical reasoning, deduction, and teamwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Enhancing students’ abilities to utilize modern technologies effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Department Head<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Amr Abdel Fattah Zewail <\/strong>Assistant Professor of Anatomy and Embryology and Head of the Department of Medicine and Surgery and Department of Collaborative Sciences at the Vision Medical College – Jeddah and Head of the Examination Unit at the college. He obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt, in 1998, then he obtained a Master’s degree in Anatomy and Embryology from Faculty of Medicine Ain Shams University, Egypt in 2008, and Dr. Zewail completed his specialization in anatomy and embryology by obtaining MD from Faculty of Medicine Ain Shams University in the Arab Republic of Egypt in 2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research Interest: <\/strong>Dr. Amr Zewail has many internationally published research in the field of anatomical and embryonic variations and their relationship to many clinical cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Asmaa Omar Al-Baity<\/strong> (lecturer) in the Department of (Collaborative Basic Sciences) at the Medical Vision College – Jeddah, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in (Chemistry) from (King Abdul Aziz University) in (Saudi Arabia) in the year (2004). \u00a0(Albaity) obtained a master\u2019s degree from (King Abdul Aziz University) in (Saudi Arabia) in (2009) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Rawan Al-Rahaily<\/strong> is a language instructor in the Department of Collaborative Sciences at Vision College – Jeddah. She obtained a BA in the English Language from Taibah University in Saudi Arabia in 2016. Ms. Rawan also obtained a master’s degree from Concordia University Chicago in the United States in 2019 in differentiated instruction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research Interests:<\/strong> Individual differences in English language acquisition, and language teaching strategies to non-native speakers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Alaa Anwar Ragheb Altaluoni<\/strong> (Lecturer) in the Department of Collaborative Sciences and Head of Biostatistics and Computers in the Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing Program at Vision Medical College – Jeddah. She obtained a bachelor\u2019s degree in Medical Laboratories from Umm Al-Qura College in Mecca – Saudi Arabia in 2007. She obtained a higher diploma in Infection Control from Sophia Antipolis University in Nice, France in 2012. She also obtained a master’s degree in medical Epidemiology and Health Informatics from Seoul University in Seoul, Korea in 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research Interest:<\/strong> Epidemiology & Statistical Analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Afrah Bawazeer,<\/strong> Faculty member, in the Department of Collaborative Basic Sciences at the Medical Vision College – Jeddah, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in (Biology) from (College of Applied Sciences) in (Saudi Arabia). Dr. Bawazeer also obtained a master\u2019s degree from (University of Colorado Denver) in (United States). The doctor completed her specialty studies by obtaining a doctoral degree in (Molecular Biology) from (University of East Anglia) in (United Kingdom) in 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research Interest:<\/strong> Dr. Bawazeer is interested in microRNA therapeutics as she published scientific articles in high impact international journals (Elsevier and Springer Nature)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Aamer Khubaib<\/strong> is English lecturer in the Department of Collaborative Sciences, and he is also a Level-1 Course Director for the Nursing, Dentistry, and Medicine programs at Vision Medical College in Jeddah. He obtained a bachelor\u2019s degree in education from Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) in Pakistan in 1998, and a master\u2019s degree in English Language and Literature from Bahauddin Zakariya University in Pakistan in 2000. Mr. Aamer Khubaib has a Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and he also holds a Train the Trainers (TtT) certification from Cambridge Assessment English.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Abeer Al-Rashidi<\/strong> is an English lecturer in the Department of Collaborative Sciences in the Dental, Nursing, and Medical Programs at Vision Colleges in Jeddah. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in European Languages – English from King Abdulaziz University – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2012 and obtained a Higher Diploma in Education in 2013. She also obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Salford in Britain in 2015. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research Interests: <\/strong>Linguistics – Second Language Acquisition<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs.Daniah Sindi<\/strong> is a lecturer in the basic science department of (Nursing and Dentistry) Program at the Medical Vision colleges in Jeddah. She obtained a bachelor’s degree of Physics in 2015 from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah – Saudi Arabia and also has a Master’s of Physics (energy and environment) from The University of Glasgow, UK in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
