The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is one of three departments supporting the Dental Program at Vision Private College, Jeddah. The faculty members are involved in teaching dental students starting from Level 3 up to Level 12. The department consists divisions, covering wide range of subjects including oral surgery, periodontics, oral radiology, oral medicine, oral pathology, oral histology and dental public health. In addition to academic teaching, faculty members deliver and implement dental ethics and communication skills to promote the ethics of a Muslim doctor in the Saudi society and help form a successful dental community.
The vision of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) focuses on excellence and leadership in the academic and research field of dentistry by following the latest standards of education and training methods.
The mission of the Department of OMS is to train dental students using the latest teaching methods and techniques to acquire various skills related to diagnosis and medical and surgical treatment of oral and dental diseases and to conduct scientific research based on continuous and self-learning skills to help advance the Saudi community. The department is committed to provide excellent services to patients in Saudi society in the areas of diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases according to the ethics of the religion and the principles of society.

The Department of Oral and Maxilofacial Surgery at Vision Private College, Jeddah provides a leading comprehensive dental service and drawing referrals from throughout Northern Jeddah for diagnosis and management of dental conditions. Under the leadership of Hani Mawardi, BDS, DMSc, our triple board-certified specialists in Oral Medicine, Periodontics and Orofacial Pain provide innovative treatment for a wide spectrum of oral conditions. As an integral member of Vision Private College, the department has special expertise in providing oral health care for challenging cases. In addition, we train the next generation of dentists and leaders to match Saudi Arabia 2030 transformation vision.
The Division of Oral Surgery provides didactic and clinical training to dental students on a wide range of surgical treatments, including tooth extraction, surgical procedures for removal of teeth or roots, and the treatment of fractures of the jaws and facial bones. The students are also trained in the diagnosis of benign and malignant tumors and the treatment of acute and chronic infections in the head and neck area.
Oral Diagnosis, Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology
The Division of Oral Diagnosis, Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology provides didactics and clinical training to dental students on diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases including oral mucosal lesions, salivary gland disease and oral symptoms of systemic diseases as well as pathological interpretation of various oral conditions with radiographic characteristics.
The Division of Oral Histology provides didactics microscopic examination to dental students on understanding basic histological features of oral tissues and diagnosis of oral diseases with interpretation of pathological characteristics.
The Division of Periodontics provides didactic and clinical training to dental students to be able to diagnose and treat various periodontal diseases and supporting tissues in addition to principles and methods of maintaining oral health and prevention of dental diseases. In addition, students are introduced to periodontal and esthetic concepts and surgeries and implant dentistry.
The Division of Oral Radiology provides didactics and clinical training to dental students on oral radiology basics and radiographic diagnosis of oral diseases. In addition, dental students various techniques to obtain a dental radiograph with interpretation of images and radiographic characteristics
Dental Public Health
The Division of Dental Public Health provides didactics and clinical training to dental students on dental ethics, preventive programs and biostatistics skills. In addition, students get the opportunity to structure a community dental program and apply it through field trips.
