Saudi Board Programs Committee
The Saudi Board Programs Committee at the Vision College of Dentistry and Nursing in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has been established following policies and procedures of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) and its executive regulations. The Saudi board programs committee forms an integrated role to fulfill responsibilities and strategies in cooperation between the members of the committee, which aims to achieve common and collective decisions and provisions that seek to increase the efficiency of trainees and build a future that will help them.
Saudi Board Committee Responsibilities:
Adherence to the admission and registration procedures according to the admission mechanism approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
Commitment to apply the training systems approved in the General Training Regulations.
Supervising the trainees during the entire period of the training programs and submitting the annual reports to the executive management of training at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
Promote trainees from one year to another based on the annual promotion criteria approved in the General Regulations for Training in Postgraduate Programs of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
Preparing for visits for the Saudi Board program and arranging to accompany and receive visitors inside the college.
Accrediting the special policies for the Saudi program in accordance with the executive regulations of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
Welcoming of trainees from other training groups to spend some training courses in case the need arises to complete a training group
Preparing performance indicators for evaluating program performance and comparison with other regional and international training centers.
Preparing the annual report for the programs and submitting them to the competent authorities.
Issuing a certificate of completion of training according to the forms of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties for those who have successfully completed training in accordance with the implementation rules approved by the Executive Council for Education and Training.
The committee holds a meeting 4 times annually to review what is related to training programs, regulations, policies, and prepare internal review according to the approved standards of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
The committee is associated with Designated Institutional Official at the college
Preparing minutes and reports and making recommendations by the committee that are submitted periodically to the Dean of the college for approval.
This decision is effective until the end of the current academic year 1442 AH,
and the specialized authorities must act accordingly and enforce it.

Saudi Board in Orthodontics and Maxillofacial Orthopedics.
Saudi Board in Restorative Dentistry.

Saudi Board in Orthodontics and Maxillofacial Orthopedics program.
The Saudi Specialty Certificate Program in Orthodontics (SBO) is a 4-years comprehensive clinical training program in the field of orthodontics, that approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS), leading to the attainment of a professional clinical degree called the Saudi Board of Orthodontics and Maxillofacial Orthopedics degree. Saudi Board in Restorative Dentistry
The Saudi Board in Restorative Dentistry is a program which extends for a period of three (3) years. The program designed to provide didactic, clinical, and hospital training to upgrade the standards of the dental profession in Saudi Arabia. The instructions and experiences provided in the SBRD can prepare residents to be highly qualified restorative dentists who are able to treat restorative cases which include Operative, Endodontics, and Fixed Prosthodontics treatment modalities.
