| The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Vision Colleges, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Nami, has issued a decision appointing Dr. Yaqoub bin Dhafer Al-Yami as Dean of Vision Medical College in Jeddah for a period of three years, following the approval of the General Secretariat of the Council of Universities Affairs for his nomination, in accordance with the regulatory framework governing private universities and colleges. This appointment reflects the college’s continued commitment to attracting highly qualified academic and administrative leaders capable of advancing development efforts and elevating educational programs to the highest standards of quality and excellence. Dr. Al-Yami is regarded as one of the prominent national figures in the field of health education. He brings an extensive record of scientific, research, and administrative achievements, in addition to specialized experience in curriculum design and development, and in supervising academic initiatives and development projects that enhance the quality of education and outcomes within health sciences colleges. He is widely recognized for his dedication to fostering a stimulating learning environment that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application, and for empowering students with clinical and professional skills that prepare them to serve the healthcare sector with competence and excellence. Dr. Al-Yami holds a distinguished professional background. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Dentistry from the Modern University for Technology and Information in the Arab Republic of Egypt in 2011. He subsequently earned a Fellowship in Oral Medicine and Orofacial Pain from New York University in the United States in 2014. He continued his academic journey by completing a master’s degree in dental sciences from Rutgers University in New Jersey in 2016. He also earned a Clinical Fellowship in Orofacial Pain from Rutgers University and achieved the American Board certification in the same specialty. In 2019, the Scientific Council at King Abdulaziz University issued a decision appointing him as Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Vision Medical College in Jeddah, where he chaired the department from 2019 to 2022. He also served as Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs and Graduate Studies, as well as the official representative for Saudi Board programs from 2022 to 2025—contributions that enriched his academic leadership and supported his effective role in advancing higher medical education.
