Formation of the Board of Trustees of Vision Colleges: A Strategic Step Towards Academic Excellence and Compliance

His Excellency the Minister of Education, Chairman of the Universities Affairs Council, Dr. Yusuf Abdullah Al-Benyan, issued Decision No. 16/4501127113 on December 10, 2024, announcing the formation of a new Board of Trustees for Vision Colleges in Riyadh and Jeddah for a three-year term, renewable. This decision aligns with the fifth paragraph of Article Nine of the Regulation for Private Universities and Colleges, affirming that Vision Colleges have aligned their operations with the regulatory framework.

The board comprises prominent academic and administrative figures whose expertise will support the colleges’ strategic vision and objectives:

  • Dr. Mohammed Saleh A Bin Numay: Vice President of King Saud University for Educational and Academic Affairs and Professor of Electrical Engineering. With extensive experience in academic and technical project management, including unified admission systems for Saudi universities, he will enhance the board’s capacity for strategic policy development and institutional integration.
  • Dr. Abdulaziz Abdullah R Alothman: Former Deputy Minister of Education for Private Higher Education and a civil engineering expert with a PhD from the University of Birmingham. Known for his contributions to policy-making and academic program enhancement, his governance skills provide valuable strategic insights for the board.
  • Dr. Walaa Omar M Alshuaibi: Consultant in pediatrics and genetic disorders and Assistant Professor at King Saud University. With a strong background in academic leadership, including roles as Vice Director of Paediatrics Fellowship at King Saud Medical City and Vice dean for Training and Development Affairs at Vision College in Riyadh, she brings expertise in academic program development and medical education.
  • Mr. Adel Abdulrahman A Alajlan: Vision Colleges for Education CEO with a rich leadership, human resources management, and accounting background. His extensive experience in administrative and financial systems supports the efficient implementation of the board’s plans.
  • Dr. Sultan Mohammed I Alsumaikhi: Director of Planning and Development at Vision Colleges for Education and a specialist in medical education and curriculum design. His expertise ensures enhancing academic programs to meet national and international accreditation standards.
  • Mr. Mohammed Rashed A Altamami: Director of Human Resources and Administrative Affairs and Labour Contracts Advisor at Vision Colleges for Education. With decades of experience in human resources and strategic administration, his contributions will enhance institutional operations and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Ms. Hind Ali A Alsultan: Supervisor of Legal Affairs at Vision Colleges for Education. Known for her policy development and academic governance skills, she ensures institutional compliance with regulations.
  • Dr. Ahmed Hassan Saeed Alghamdi, representing the General Secretariat of the Universities Affairs Council, also joins as a member.

According to Article Nine, Paragraph Five, the board includes the Deans of Vision College in Riyadh and Vision Medical College in Jeddah. The board will oversee Vision Colleges’ strategic objectives, ensuring the implementation of regulations, enhancing academic and financial policies, and maintaining educational quality. This formation marks a pivotal step in establishing Vision Colleges as a leading private higher education institution aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
