Vision Medical College in Jeddah participates in a polio vaccination campaign

Under the supervision of Professor Mahmoud Zouheir, Vision Medical College in Jeddah, represented by a number of its subinterns, took part in a polio vaccination campaign.

Health Affairs in the region of Mecca has launched the annual and limited two-dose polio vaccination campaign.

The first phase of vaccination started on the 22nd of January and lasted for a week, while the second one is expected to begin on Sunday 26 February, and lasts for a week.

Polio is a highly contagious disease that sometimes enters through the mouth and multiplies in the intestines to cause a virus that attacks the nervous system and is transmitted from the infected person to the healthy person through direct contact.

This campaign targets all children under the age of five, with the aim of preserving the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from polio and raising community immunity. The participation of Vision Medical College in Jeddah in this campaign came to confirm its keenness on community partnership and achieve the goals of the college by raising the level of community awareness and the importance of enhancing community service among its students.
