The introduction:
In the past few years, scientific research has witnessed remarkable progress in a number of fields in the Al-Ruyya Medical College in Jeddah, and as a result of many of these researches touching on topics related to living organisms, the need to establish and activate a permanent committee for scientific research ethics in the college has increased, and after the establishment of the National Committee for Bioethics And medical, by the decision of the High Commissioner, it has become obligatory for all agencies that conduct research on living organisms in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to adhere to the regulations issued by the committee. Therefore, the Permanent Committee for Scientific Research Ethics was established at the Medical Vision College in Jeddah under the umbrella of Bioethics No. and Medical by His Excellency the Dean of the College with the aim of reviewing the ethics of scientific research presented within the college by specialists in this field due to the importance of this in preserving research ethics in accordance with Islamic law Which preserves the rights of the organism from the violations that may occur in the absence of an organization that organizes and monitors the ethical aspect of the research, and returns the rights to those affected by the abuses that occurred in the past. Also, in the event that these researches are submitted for publication, as international research organizations and bodies require this as a main basis for approving research related to living creatures and publishing their results.
Committee objectives:
Applying ethical standards and controls for biological and medical research.
Periodic evaluation and oversight of submitted research and application of biomedical and research ethics standards and controls.
Coordinating with the Scientific Research Committee regarding follow-up on the issue of adherence to bio-medical ethics.
Spreading awareness of the ethics of biological and medical research for those working in the research field, and encouraging related activities such as seminars, panel discussions and lectures.
The most important tasks of the committee:
Ensure that the research is in accordance with the research ethics system on living creatures.
Monitoring the application of the general principles and necessary controls for dealing with living creatures, parts of them, or their genetic material in the fields of research in light of the research ethics system on living creatures.
Protecting human rights in question and ensuring their safety.
Ensuring the correctness of the INFORMED CONSENT procedures.
Ensure that minors, incompetents, or people with disabilities are not exploited in scientific research in any way.
