Vision College of Dentistry and Nursing was established in Riyadh in 2009 to be a tributary of dental and nursing sciences, modern knowledge and a contemporary civilization project that embodies the vision of the wise leadership in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in spreading science and knowledge and meet the needs of the Saudi society.
Vision College of Medicine was established based on the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education No. 65019, dated 08/18/1430 AH, and the first batch was accepted in the academic year 2014-2015.
As part of the continuous improvement process to meet the ambitious vision of the Colleges, Vision Colleges have launched the project of re-organization to harmonize the institutional efforts under the umbrella of one College. This initiative was endorsed by unifying the higher administrative level in terms of one Dean, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, and Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs operating the Colleges. The project has been almost accomplished by the approval of the re-organization proposal by the Ministry of Education (MOE). The MOE approved the request of BOT for approval of merging Vision College of Medicine in Riyadh and Vision College of Dentistry & Nursing in Riyadh to be one college named ‘Vision College in Riyadh’ (Decision No. 66348 Date 13-6-1443 AH/16-1-2022).
Vision College grants a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery (BDS), and a Bachelor’s degree in General Nursing (BGN). Prof. Abdullah Aldahmash is the Dean of the College and the Manager of the Academic Programs.
For MBBS, the study duration is 6 years and is to be completed by an additional internship year in the 7th year. The graduation requirements for obtaining the scientific degree are distributed into levels according to the study plan approved by the Board of Trustees. The Medicine study plan is designed to be taught in 12 levels, 51 courses, and 212 credit hours.
In the BDS, the study duration is 6 years and is to be completed by an additional internship year in the 7th year. The graduation requirements for obtaining the scientific degree are distributed into levels according to the study plan approved by the Board of Trustees. The study plan is designed to be taught in 12 levels, 98 courses, and 200 credit hours. In the BGN, the study duration is 4 years and is to be completed by an additional internship year in the 5th year. The graduation requirements for obtaining the scientific degree are distributed into levels according to the study plan approved by the Board of Trustees. The study plan is designed to be taught in 8 levels, 37 courses, and 132 credit hours.
Learning resources are maintained adequate for teaching and learning activities. Laboratories include 13 basic and basic medical sciences labs equipped with advanced devices and material along with the standard safety measures. Computer labs are equipped with the powerful PCs and connectivity. The well-equipped Vision Colleges Skills and Simulation Center (VCSS) provides training on a wide array of clinical skills and is accredited by the AHA for delivering BLS courses. The Central Library includes more than 15,000 paper-form and electronic books. In addition, there is an active subscription to the Saudi Digital Library, which enables students and faculty members to access the latest international scientific databases. The programs are served by various facilities within the Vision Colleges campus including several sports areas, lounges, brand cafeterias and coffee-shops for male and female students. Vision Colleges have acquired Institutional Academic Accreditation from the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation, and applied for programmatic accreditation.
