Clinical Attachment

Clinical Attachment is the period of medical education in which dentists (general practitioner) and recent graduates practice training under the supervision of a group of resident doctors and consultants specializing in the college. The enrolled general practitioner will be clinically trained through exposure to a wide range of practical cases in cooperation with the programs of the Saudi Board of the Commission for Health Specialties accredited at the Vision Medical College, the training will be under the supervision of a group of professors and consultants in the specialty.  

Dentists (general practitioner) or recent graduates are taught the basics of clinical examination, assessment and care provision and enable them to choose the desired course of specialty. During clinical training, the trainee interacts with real patients as with the average doctor, but their assessments and recommendations are reviewed by more experienced doctors.

Cooperation has been established between the Institutional Training Committee and the Continuing Education and Professional Development Committee, as well as with the scientific departments of the Saudi Board programs to provide dentists and graduation events with a certificate of clinical experience in the following specialties:

  • Restorative & Cosmetic Dentistry
  • Orthodontics
  • Periodontics and Dental implants
  • Oral and maxillofacial surgery
  • Pediatric dentistry
  • Endodontics

Objective of the training

  • Raising the efficiency of dentists (general practitioner) and recent graduates in dealing with various clinical cases and keeping pace with the requirements of the labor market in the Kingdom through training in the clinics of Vision College in Jeddah.  
  • Preparing dentists (general practitioner) or fresh graduates to join the Saudi Board programs in the Kingdom and abroad.  
  • Keeping pace with modern therapeutic developments in the field of dentistry and ensuring that the trainee follows the highest treatment quality systems and advanced diagnostic and treatment methods.  

Admission Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in dentistry from one of the Kingdom’s colleges or equivalent abroad.  
  • Completion of the franchise phase.
  • Professional classification certificate from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.  
  •  BLS certificate accredited from within the Kingdom.  
  • Certificate of good conduct during the study period.  
  • Fill the Clinical Attachment Request Form**

At the end of the training period, the trainee will receive:

A certificate of clinical training in the specialty with the number of training hours accredited by the college and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties in the required specialization.

Conditions for completing the training certificate:

100% completion of training hours.
