The duration of the program is 12 semesters, the student finishes 200 credit hours, in addition to one year (12 Months) of internship program.

Language of study in the Dental program:

The official language of study is English.

The student is considered a graduate of the dental program to which he is enrolled, after completing the graduation requirements, which are six academic years and the compulsory internship year, and successfully passing exams according to the study plan, provided that the general grade is not less than acceptable.

Internship year in the Dental program:

The internship year is a mandatory intensive training period for all students, the aim of which is to optimally apply the theoretical and clinical information taught during the university years. This year is a prerequisite for obtaining a license to practice the dental profession in the Kingdom. The training period is 12 months, which the student spends in the college clinics and training centers approved by the college, during which rotation is done between the different departments. There is a valid agreement between the VCJ and the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom represented by the ministry’s hospitals, to supervise the training during the year of excellence in cooperation with the college administration. The hospital administration evaluates internship students using the assessment form approved by the college and in conformity with the conditions of the Ministry, after which the student is given a certificate of passing the internship period. The internship trainee must undergo the examination of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties during or after the end of the internship period and his graduation from the college or according to the decisions of the Saudi Commission for Specialties to become a resident. After passing the examination of the Commission he can officially practice the profession.

Dental Medicine & Surgery Department Head

Dr. Ebaa Ibrahim Al-Agha Associate Professor in the Dental Medicine and Surgery Department. She is the Head of the Dental Medicine and Surgery Department-Vision Medical Colleges-Jeddah. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Oral and Dental Surgery from October 6th University in Egypt in 2003 and obtained a Master’s degree from Al-Azhar University in Egypt in 2013 and obtained a Diploma in total quality management in health care from the American University in Egypt in 2013. Dr. Alagha completed her specialization studies by obtaining a Ph.D. from Al-Azhar University in Egypt in 2016.

Research interests: Esthetic restorations, Digital Dentistry.

Dental Medicine & Surgery Department Faculty Members

Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Mahrous is Professor of Prosthodontics & Oral Implantology, Dental Medicine & Surgery Department. He is the Head of Quality, Development & Academic Accreditation Unit- Vision Medical Colleges-Jeddah. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Oral and Dental Surgery from October 6th University in the Arab Republic of Egypt in 2003, and he also obtained a master’s degree from Al-Azhar University in Cairo in 2008.

Dr. Mahrous completed his specialization in prosthodontics and dental implants by obtaining a Ph.D. from Al-Azhar University in the Arab Republic of Egypt in 2012. Also, he obtained a Total Hospital Management& Quality Diploma from the American University in Cairo in 2013.

Research interests: Dr. Ahmed has many published research in Prosthodontics well-known Journals and he is interested in Implantology and management of edentulous patients.

Dr. Basma Sarhan is a lecturer in Operative Dentistry, Dental Medicine & Srugery Department-Vision Medical Colleges-Jeddah. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Dentistry from Misr University for Science and Technology in Egypt in 2007. Dr. Sarhan obtained a master’s degree from Cairo University in Egypt in 2013.

Research interests: Recent Advances in Esthetic Dentistry.

Dr. Albaraa Abdulrazaq Makhdoom is a lecturer in the Dental Medicine and Surgery Department and Deputy program director of the Saudi Board of Restorative dentistry Program at Vision collage – Jeddah. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry from Vision Colleges-Jeddah in 2018. Dr. Makhdoom also obtained Saudi board Certificate in Restorative dentistry from the Commission for Health Specialties in Jeddah in 2021.

Dr.Sahar Esam Ghandoura is currently a lecturer in clinical periodontology- Dental Medicine & Srugery Department, at Vision Medical College – Jeddah. She graduated from King Abdulaziz University in 2013. Dr.Sahar is a board-certified Periodontist. She received her Saudi board certification in Periodontics in 2021.

Research Interests are regenerative periodontics and implant dentistry.

Dr. Walaa Abd El Aty Ahmed is an assistant professor at the Dental Medicine and surgery Department at Vision Medical College – Jeddah. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in dental medicine and surgery from Cairo University Egypt 2004. Dr. Walaa Ahmed obtained a master’s degree in oral and maxillofacial radiology from Cairo University Egypt 2011. The doctor completed her specialty by obtaining a PhD from Cairo University Egypt 2018.

Research interests: She is interested in scientific research in the field of oral and dental radiology and shared research between the specialty of oral radiology and the specialty of oral surgery. There are many scientific papers published in local and international journals in this field.

Dr. Iffat Mirza Ahmed is an Assistant Professor in the Dental Medicine and Surgery Department. She is also the Head of Research Ethics Committee and Head of Continuous Education Committee at Vision Medical College-Jeddah. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery, Master’s in Clinical Research and PhD in Clinical Research. She also has Professional Fellowship in University Teaching and Learning from Iman Abdulrahman bin Faisal University.

Research interests exploring innovative methods to enhance early detection of diseases and targeted  treatment approaches.

Dr. Esraa Ali Mohammed Sayed Lecturer in Endodontics Dentistry- Dental Medicine & Srugery Department, and Head of Alumni Unit and Supervisor of the Admission and Registration Committee at the College of Medical Vision – Jeddah she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry from University of Khartoum for Medical Sciences in Sudan at 2009, and Dr. Sayed obtained a master’s degree from the University of National Ribat University- Sudan at 2018.

Dr Hassan Jamal Assistant Professor in Paediatric Dentistry at Dental Medicine & Srugery Department at Vision Medical College – Jeddah. Dr Jamal received his clinical PhD from University College London in 2021, specialising in Pediatric Dentistry. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, Glasgow and England. He obtained a first master’s degree in dentistry from King’s College London and a second master’s degree in biomaterials science from Queen Mary University in London. Dr. Jamal also works as a consultant for sustainable development at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. He is a World Dental Federation’s sustainability team member and the project lead and founder of the “Saudi Sustainable Oral Healthcare Initiative”.

Dr.mahmoud Zuhair Lecturer in Family Dentistry- Department of Oral and maxillofacial surgery and Clinical director int Vision Medical College,  He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in  dentistry from the Misr University of Science and Technology in Egypt in 2010. Dr Zuhair also obtained a board degree of Fellowship for family Dentistry from Egypt in 2014,also obtained professional diploma in infection control.

Research interest: Postoperative inflammatory complications after impacted mandibular third molar removal

Dr.Fadwa Alharthy lecturer in Fixed Prosthodontics, Dental Medicine & Srugery Department at vision colleges in Jeddah. She gained her bachelor degree from October 6th university in Egypt in 2009, and finished her residency and gained her master’s degree in Columbia university in New York and her subspeciality in implant dentistry from New York university in the New York, USA

Dr. Bilal Abdul Wasea Gogandy Lecturer of Endodontics Dental Medicine & Srugery Department at the Vision Medical College – Jeddah. Obtained his bachelor’s degree in dental medicine and surgery from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah at 2017, he obtained his master’s degree in endodontics from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah in 2022.

Research interests: Reserches in Stem Cells

Dr. Maryam Fuad Mohab, Lecturer of Public Health Dental Mesicine & Surgery Department. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in dental medicine and surgery with honors and distinction from King Abdul Aziz University in 2018. Dr. Maryam Mohab earned her master’s degree in public health, specializing in Health Policy, from the University of Louisville in the United States in 2022.  During her academic journey, Dr. Maryam Mohab also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Infectious Disease Department at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky, US. Her tenure in this role extended from 2021 to 2022. 

Research Interests: Maternal and child health, Access to healthcare and health delivery systems, Socio-cultural factors influencing health.

Dr. Adi Hail Alsharari a General Dentist at the Dental Medicine and Surgery Department at Vision Medical College – Jeddah. He obtained a Bachelor degree in Dental Medicine and Surgery from Vision Colleges in Saudi Arabia in the year 2021/2022.

Research interests: (fixed prosthetics, cosmetic fillings, endodontic treatment).
